Jo Carkeek joined Whakaata Māori as Tāhuhu Pūmanawa Tangata in April 2022.

Born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, Carkeek obtained a Bachelor of Business Management from AUT, majoring in Business Management, Employment Law & Human Resources.

‍

Carkeek has extensive Human Resources experience across a multitude of industries including FMCG, telecommunications, manufacturing, and insurance, before moving into media broadcasting with her appointment to the Executive Team at Whakaata Māori.

Carkeek is also currently a Board Member at Glass & Glazing New Zealand.
