How do I create a MĀORI+ account?

It is simple to create a MĀORI+ account here.

Please complete the signup process on a desktop, laptop, or smart device, such as a Google Chrome browser, and verify your account with the code emailed to the email address when you signed up. We recommend using Chrome Browser to sign up.

When signing up, remember that your password must be at least 8 characters long and include at least 1 capital letter.

If you have trouble receiving our verification email after signing up, please try these troubleshooting tips:

     - Check your spam folder for our verification email.

     - Check that your caches and cookies have been cleared.

I haven't received the MĀORI+ Account verification email. What should I do?

If you haven't received the verification email, please take the following steps:

1. Ensure that your caches and cookies have been cleared.

2. Check your spam/junk folder.

3. Confirm that your browser is fully updated.

4. Try using an alternate browser or an incognito window.

5. If you may have entered your email address incorrectly during the signup process, you'll need to go through the registration process again, making sure to enter the correct email address: www.maoriplus.co.nz/sign-up

Contact us if you're still having problems.

I've forgotten my password. How do I reset it?

To reset your password, follow these steps:

     1. Open a web browser on your desktop, laptop, or smart device.

     2. If you are using the mobile app, click on "Login" or "Settings" and then click on "Forgot Password."

     3. Click the "Forgot password" link, then type in your email address and click "Send." We will email you a link to reset your password.

     4. Open the link in your email inbox, set up a new password, and you're done!

If you do not receive an email from us, please try the following:

     - Double check that your caches and cookies have been cleared.

     - Check your spam/junk folder.

     - Ensure that your browser is fully updated.

     - Try using an alternate browser or an incognito window.

     - Contact us if you're still having problems.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, please follow the steps below:

  •      1. Using a desktop, laptop, or smart device, open a web browser and log in to MĀORI+.

  •      2. Once logged in, locate the settings icon on the top right next to your name and click on it.

  •      3. Then, click on the pencil icon to change your password.

  •      4. You will be prompted to enter your current password, followed by your new password twice. Once done, click on the update button.

If you are using the mobile app, you will need to update your password through a web browser by heading to www.maoriplus.co.nz/settings/account-information  in the Settings section.

Having trouble watching MĀORI+ on your PC/MAC?

If you are having trouble watching MĀORI+on your PC/MAC? Try following these steps:

  • - Check your PC/MAC is running the latest browser version.

Please note: maoriplus.co.nz is supported on these browsers – Windows: Chrome, Firefox, Edge | MacOS: Safari, Chrome

  • - Trying accessing maoriplus.co.nz using a different web browser from the one you’re currently using.
  • - Check your internet connection. If your internet connection is slow or intermittent, it will cause problems streaming our videos.

  • - Check that your internet is working.
  • - Try uninstalling then reinstalling your MĀORI+ app.
  • - Try restarting your device.

How do I set up my Chromecast to view MĀORI+?

Why can't I connect with my Chromecast?

If you can't connect the MĀORI+ app to your Chromecast device, follow these steps:

  • - Check that your Chromecast dongle/MĀORI+ app is on the latest version.
  • - Check that your device and Chromecast dongle are both on the same network.
  • - Try uninstalling then reinstalling your MĀORI+ app.
  • - Try resetting your Chromecast.
  • - Check that you have a strong internet connection when trying to access MĀORI+. You can run tospeedtestto check.

Apple TV / Airplay

Having playback issues on Apple TV?

If you are experiencing issues with MĀORI+on Apple TV. follow these steps:

  • - Check that your internet is working.
  • - Check that your Apple TV device/MĀORI+ app is running the version.
  • - Try uninstalling/reinstalling your MĀORI+ app.
  • - Try restarting your Apple TV device.
  • - Check that you have a strong internet connection. You can run a speedtest to check.
  • - Check if you can stream on other streaming services

When using AirPlay the show doesn’t playon MĀORI+. What do I do?

If you are experiencing issues with MĀORI+ using AirPlay, follow these steps:

  • - Check your iPhone/iPad has the latest version of the MĀORI+ app.
  • - To check this, open the App Store and go to the Updates tab to check for updates
  • - Connect both your iPhone/iPad and your Apple TV to the same WiFi network.
  • - To check if this is the case: On the Apple TV go to Settings General Network. On your iOS device go to Settings WiFi
  • - Try connecting your Apple TV via Ethernet to the router if WiFi does not work
  • - If you are unable to see the AirPlay icon, try the following steps:
  • - If trying to AirPlay to your Apple TV, ensure that AirPlay is enabled on your Apple TV.
  • - You can enable or disable AirPlay on Apple TV in the AirPlay menu: Settings> AirPlay
  • - Check to ensure Internet or network connectivity is working on all affected devices.
  • - Check to make sure you are not using AirPlay in mirror mode. If you are in mirror mode, you must close the MĀORI+ app, stop AirPlay on your device and then relaunch the app.
  • - Now you will then be able to select the AirPlay icon within the MĀORI+ app.

Why can't I update my MĀORI+ app on my Android TV/ Google TV?

Our new version of the MĀORI+ app has been launched, You will need to uninstall and reinstall the MĀORI+ app from the Google Play Store.

Which devices can I watch MĀORI+ on?

To watch content on MĀORI+ you need to be connected to the internet and running the latest operating system. To experience the best of MĀORI+ content from anywhere, anytime ensure you are on the latest version of the app.*

*Please note: Due to content rights, some content may not be available outside Aotearoa.

What do the classifications (such as G, PG or M) mean?

Some programmes on MĀORI+ have a classification to help you understand the nature of the content and whether it is suitable for you and your family.

We use the following classifications:
[G] - Approved for General viewing (Arowhānui: Kua whakaaetia mō te mātakitaki a te katoa)
[PG] - Parental Guidance is recommended for young viewers ( Tohutohu ā-Matua: E tūtohua te Tohutohu ā-Matua mō ngā kaimātakitaki tamariki ake)
[M] - Suitable for mature audiences 16 years and over. (Ngā Kaimātakitaki Pakeke: E tika ana mā ngā kaimātakitaki pakeke 16 tau, pakeke atu)
[16] - Suitable for 16 years and over. (Kaua e mātakina e te hunga i raro i te 16 tau)
[18] - Suitable for 18 years and over (Kaua e mātakina e te hunga i raro i te 18 tau)

If programmes are more likely to offend, we may provide additional warnings using the following classifications:
[C] - Content may offend (Ka mōrihariha pea ngā ihirangi)
[L] - Language may offend (Ka mōrihariha pea te reo)
[V] - Violence may offend (He whakarekereke kei roto)
[S] - Sexual material may offend (Ka mōrihariha pea ngā ihirangi hōkaka)

Please Note: Classifications are not required for News, Current affairs or Sports programmes.
