Dr Reuben Collier MNZM is a distinguished Māori academic, documentary filmmaker, and governance leader of Horouta, Mataatua, Te Arawa and Tainui descent.

With more than 30 years in Indigenous broadcasting, he was appointed MNZM in 2017, and brings extensive experience in te reo, tikanga and Indigenous research to Te Rūnanga Kaiwhakatere o Whakaata Māori.

Founder of Māui Productions and former Chair of Ngā Aho Whakaari, Dr Collier received the Royal Society Te Apārangi Pou Aronui Medal in 2025 for distinguished service and sustained contribution to the humanities. He contributes strategic leadership across Māori media, Ngarimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Fund, and the 28th Māori Battalion B Company History Trust and the academy.
