Julian Wilcox a founding member of Whakaata Māori, having helped establish the organisation in 2004. A respected broadcaster, educator and holder of a doctorate, he is renowned for his expertise in te reo Māori, tikanga and pūrākau. He is also the former Tumu Uru Kahikatea of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.
