We’re looking for two Multimedia Journalists who can produce respected written news in both Te Reo Māori and English. Based in our East Tāmaki office, this is an exciting opportunity for junior or intermediate-level reporters to join our experienced and supportive newsroom.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities
- Create news content in video, audio, and written formats.
- Integrate te reo Māori me ōna tikanga in all storytelling.
- Produce balanced, engaging stories across digital, social, and broadcast platforms.
- Confidently present live and recorded content on camera.
- Deliver timely updates from live events using digital tools.
- Collaborate to develop impactful, Māori-led story ideas.
- Build strong connections with Māori communities and stakeholders.
- Uphold tikanga Māori and report with cultural respect.
- Promote te ao Māori values and te reo revitalisation.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | What you’ll bring
- Fluent in te reo Māori and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
- Confident using technology to produce compelling multi-platform content — especially for video and digital audiences.
- Confident being on camera. Experience in live reporting would be beneficial
- Strong research skills with the ability to produce accurate, balanced, and insightful journalism.
- Strong ties to te ao Māori, Māori communities and an understanding tikanga Māori, with the ability to report with cultural integrity.
- 1–3 years’ journalism experience, or equivalent, ideally reporting on issues relevant to Māori.
- Adaptable, resilient, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Detail-oriented, ethical, and committed to journalistic excellence.
- Collaborative and community-focused, with a mindset grounded in audience engagement and positive representation.
- Holds a tertiary qualification in journalism, media, or communications (or equivalent experience), a full NZ driver's license, and the legal right to work in Aotearoa.
