Tini Whetū ki te Rangi: Leading with Confidence
Whakaata Māori invites expressions of interest from educators, facilitators, wānanga, and kaupapa Māori learning providers to partner with us in delivering Tini Whetū ki te Rangi – Leading with Confidence, a leadership development journey for our Tumu (Heads of Department).

Tini Whetū ki te Rangi aims to equip our Tumu with fundamental skills and knowledge to confidently and effectively lead their teams, manage performance, and contribute to organisational success and reflects our commitment to developing confident leaders who can support the growth of our Kaihoe to help steer our waka forward.

Te Huarahi Ako – The Learning Journey
This programme will support Tumu to strengthen their leadership capability through a blended learning approach that includes wānanga, applied workplace learning, coaching, and peer reflection.
Key areas of focus include:
• Leadership foundations and emotional intelligence
• Communication and relationship building
• Coaching, mentoring and performance leadership
• Decision making, delegation and leading through change
The learning journey emphasises practical application, reflection, and collective learning
Te Āhua o te Mahi – Delivery
The programme is expected to be delivered predominantly onsite for up to 30 people across Whakaata Māori for approximately 23 weeks, with facilitation around 1 to 1.5 days per week. Ultimately, the delivery will be guided by the provider.

• encourages whakawhanaungatanga and collective reflection
• draws on mātauranga Māori and lived leadership experience
• creates a safe and engaging spaces for leaders to grow
