Erana Karauti (Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Kauwhata, Ngāti Tūkorehe, Ngāti Raukawa) leads the Communications and Engagement team at Whakaata Māori. Erana brings more than 15 years of experience across media, iwi, and private sectors. She holds degrees in Communication and Mātauranga Māori and is a fluent speaker of te reo Māori.

At Whakaata Māori, Erana leads the Communications and Engagement team, driving the organisation’s strategic voice, strengthening how Whakaata Māori champions te reo Māori, connects with diverse audiences, and amplifies Māori voices across digital platforms and global stages.
