It’s whānau vs whānau in a new fluent reality series featuring well-known rangatahi Māori siblings being thrown into some very uncomfortable situations – from medieval battles to street sleeping; from community kitchens to sweat lodges, sheep shearing and animal whispering.

Mahi Tahi Executive Producer, Jade Maipi says the show is fresh, funny and absolutely fearless.

“Viewers can expect laugh-out-loud awkwardness, next-level sibling dynamics, deep cultural reflections, and genuine moments of transformation,” says Jade Maipi.

EPISODE 1: FRIDAY 8 AUGUST 7.00PM: KARAREHE – The Schmidt-Peke sisters and the Maipi / Paenga whānau take a deep dive into the animal kingdom. They’ll attempt to talk to animals, train a pack of dogs, and battle it out in a sheep-shearing competition. But in the end, will it be the animals that come out on top?

EPISODE 2: FRIDAY 15 AUGUST 7.00PM: STREET SMART – The Tuari brothers and the Maipi / Paenga whānau roll up their sleeves to give back to the community — and gain a powerful insight into the realities of life on the margins. From busking to raise funds, to preparing and serving meals for the unhoused, they step into the world of service and solidarity. The experience becomes even more real for the Maipi / Paenga whānau, who spend a night on the streets to truly understand what it means to sleep rough.

EPISODE 3: FRIDAY 22 AUGUST 7.00PM: ROLE PLAY – The Tuari brothers and the Rupuha / Ripikoi sisters put their acting chops to the test. In preparation for an epic LARP (Live Action Role Play) adventure, they dive into an immersive acting workshop, choose their characters and costumes, and then step into a medieval world—joining forces with members of the local role-playing community for a dramatic, fantasy-fueled showdown.

EPISODE 4: FRIDAY 29 AUGUST 7.00PM: THE HUSTLE – The Schmidt-Peke and Rupuha / Ripikoi sisters are on a mission to make a quick buck. They kick things off with a classic car wash hustle, roll up their sleeves to help out at fruit, veggie, and seafood stalls at the bustling Avondale Markets, and then step up as stallholders themselves—serving up freshly squeezed juices at the vibrant Catalina Bay Farmers Market.

EPISODE 5: FRIDAY 5 SEPTEMBER 7.00PM: HAUORA – It’s all about health and wellbeing as the Schmidt-Peke and Rupuha / Ripikoi sisters embark on a journey of mind, body, and soul. They immerse themselves in the soothing serenity of a sound bath, share an intense bonding experience in a traditional sweat lodge, and wrap it all up by shaking it off with the 90s fitness phenomenon—Zumba.

EPISODE 6: FRIDAY 12 SEPTEMBER 7.00PM: WACKY SPORT – The Maipi / Paenga whānau and the Rupuha / Ripikoi sisters dive into a trio of high-energy sports. They take on the challenge of riding the artificial waves of the Flowrider, strap on skates for a fast-paced and full-contact Roller Derby session, and then step into the ring for conditioning, wrestling drills, and insider tips with the crew from Aotearoa Wrestling.
