Maramena Roderick has been recognised as a Woman of Influence in New Zealand and is a multi-award winning practitioner.‍

She began her career in newsrooms and became New Zealand’s first Māori foreign correspondent in Europe and first NZ female journalist sent into war zones. She has produced and directed critically acclaimed programmes across nearly every genre of television. She has also been a journalism lecturer, strategic advisor to government and financial assessor on a number of national panels.

‍Maramena has held key roles at Whakaata Māori including Head of News and Current Affairs, Head of Strategy and Marketing and Director of Content and is now Director of Audience and Partnerships.
